I wish there was a way to turn it off as there is a clock on it. It takes up very little space on the counter, is easy to clean and has a look that works well with my kitchen. You are unable to read the readout while there is a larger bowl on the platform(necessary when weighing 7 or more lbs at a time). Also, the ounce readout is only in ounces, when you have over 7lbs it becomes impossible to quickly calculate how many pounds and ounces you have, as your reading will be something like 135 ounces. I especially like that you can use your own photos - this is perfect for a person who can't visualize things easily. My wife and I were able to see our kitchen with various cabinet colors, countertops and appliance options. We are remodeling our bathroom and plan on landscaping the front yard and this is going to be very helpful with that. I love the 3D views and the easy customization. It came with a 600+ page user manual so I know that I haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do even though I played with it for a few hours.
