Interior Design Ideas
If you take away All Interior Design Ideas every home will be the same as everyone else.
Why should the interior design of your home be different from anyone else's? Why follow the crowd and
lack originality?
It is easy to follow the crowd and fit your home with pre-packaged units that are the same in appearance. Every
home would look the same.
Here are some ideas to keep the interior of your home as non-conformist as you can, and perhaps these will allow
you the simple peace of a special design idea by yourself.
First - please be sure to consider coordination from your home. Recent studies have shown that balancing the cloth
of your living room upholstery to the window and floor treatments can spark sensations of appreciation and
pleasure for those living and visiting your home. It is therefore useful for the practicing Interior Designer to
consider including all hints of matching or complimentary designs from his or her household. So You may not
include all of them but at least keep them as design ideas for another time.
When dealing with those messy matching issues, be sure to walk through the rest of the interior searching for
original art pieces such as paintings, sculpture and folk art that you may use.
An interior which includes originality in their wall décor would create a sense of personality and interest in
guest of the home, and it should also be noted that these guests might then find themselves assuming the "good
taste" of their host. Not a bad thing at all.
From an interior design ideas perspective a key purpose is to delight and move away from the true conformist
thinking. This is where many interior designs are stagnating into set themes.
But you must take this a step further, and be certain that a new design or decorating idea can be found throughout
your home. Allow many inspirations to come from your favorite books, magazines, or movies. In fact, start
using many of things from entertainment that can inspire you in your design. This can only lead to further
thinking "outside the box".
Using and waking your creative juices is a good way to reach for any originality or sensationalism in interior
design ideas. You would be amazed that you can easily find simple inspiration throughout your
daily life just by looking around. It is imperative that you do on a regularly basis write any of these ideas down,
and then you will not have a chance to forget your initial reaction and idea.
Interior Designers faces many of the same questions when faced with a residential client. Challenges such
as theme and fundamental style are becoming frequent thinking pots with the home client. But there will always
be concerns about painting walls, the furniture currently inside the home, and of course the floors. There
are tips to alleviate concerns and questions regarding these specific design problems.
"What about the color of the paint? It is too bright/dark/soft/etcetera?"
The first and best design tip to eliminate concerns about paint choices is to purchase a sample of paint to
place on the wall. Then, there will be a true understanding of what the actual appearance of a color
will be before you go too deep. However, many colors - especially darker ones - attain their true beauty from the
look of the entire wall after being layered with several
coats of paint.
Trust a color pallet and a designer, but of course only follow intuition in the end. A color that is
difficult to stomach may settle eventually to delightful surprise, or it may lead to a horrible belly-ache.
This is a time thing. Only cover a wall with a design's color that will provide security and happiness in a
homeowner.
"Should existing and endurable furniture be reupholstered?" Well! it depends.
An excellent idea would be to consider this. Why not evaluate the furniture for style and value versus the cost
of the reupholstering. For example, an antique chair that fits the feeling of a formal living room that
was purchased for many thousands of dollars would be an excellent candidate as long as replacing the original
upholstery did not degrade its value or worth in any way.
"I don't know what to do about my floor." Well, decisions about floor designs should be based on a
person's budget, the room's use, and personal preference. Certain floor treatments are incredibly expensive,
such as hard oak floors, and they may not be practical in an area where stomping kids thrash through the interior.
Oh my!
Carefully weighing the options such as dying carpet or laying rugs over existing hard floors certainly
help. It is all a matter of personal preference in the end.
Actually, all interior design ideas should be a matter of personal preference but a little advice won't
hurt. Just be mindful of something in a home that will force you or any-one else to cringe every time he or she
looks
around.
